The Collaboration
In late 2014, Colon & Rectal Surgery Associates, Ltd. (CRSAL), MNGI Digestive Health (previously Minnesota Gastroenterology, P.A.), and University of Minnesota Physicians (UMP) joined together to create a new entity called Minnesota Endoscopy Center.  This unique partnership between a specialty GI practice, a colon and rectal surgery practice and an academic medical group that includes GI and colon rectal surgery, represents an opportunity to provide high quality endoscopy procedures in a collaborative relationship thus delivering outstanding value to patients and the medical community.

The focus of this partnership is based on providing high quality patient care, reducing cost and improving population health.  We feel the partnership will be highly effective in achieving this goal and is rooted in the strong reputations of the parties involved.  The strength and synergies of the three groups working together will further enhance the delivery of endoscopic procedures to the community.

The Ambulatory Surgery Center
Minnesota Endoscopy Center will help to meet the growing demand for colorectal cancer screenings and therapeutic treatment for conditions such as esophageal disorders and inflammatory bowel disease (including Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis).
Ambulatory Surgery Centers have been shown to be a more comfortable place for the patient and less intimidating or stressful than a hospital setting.  Providing endoscopic procedures in an ambulatory surgery center also improves efficiency and reduces costs for the facility portion of a patient's bill.

Minnesota Endoscopy Center features state-of-the-art equipment and staff training, and also provides easy access for patients with added patient appointments, a convenient Twin Cities location, public transit options and free parking.
This freestanding outpatient surgery center consists of specialists from Colon & Rectal Surgery Associates, MNGI Digestive Health University of Minnesota Physicians, as well as dedicated staff who are committed to providing high quality medical care and excellent services.  The physicians have expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures of the digestive tract. Patients receive highly personalized care and may undergo any of the following services:
  • Colonoscopy
  • Upper Endoscopy (EGD)
  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

A Standard of Excellence
Together, the physicians from these three organizations share a common goal of providing outstanding endoscopic procedures and are utilizing their combined expertise and knowledge to also provide collaborative patient care.  This unique multidisciplinary approach provides opportunity for continuous quality improvement, additional education and learning among providers who touch different points of care and a sharing of best practices.  Additionally, Minnesota Endoscopy Center takes a collaborative approach by partnering with other physicians involved in your care, which may include family practice (primary care), gastroenterology, gerontology, gynecology, internal medicine, oncology, urology, and urogynecology.
